The Magic of Space-A

It's so nice to not pay for airfare! On the other hand, this trip costs 25 hours of time, thanks to all this roll-call, wait at the airport for 12 hours bullhonky. On the other hand, flying commercial (and paying for it) took me 29 hours last time anyway. On the other hand, I don't think there's free booze on this flight. On the other hand, I don't want booze anyway. On the other hand, there was a chance I wouldn't even get on a flight and would get stranded who knows where. On the other hand, I didn't and this flight is only half full and I'll get to stretch out and relax.

On the other hand, I'm so bored and sleepy at SeaTac in the middle of the night I have no idea what I'm rambling about.

Peace Out, CA!

Time's up!!

I'm outta here, heading back home to Japan! I seriously can't believe how quickly these past 6 months flew by. I've had SO MUCH fun hanging out with my peeps and taking trips and eating Paxtis and not having earthquakes. Yet all good things must come to an end, and now on to the next GREAT thing... reuniting with my husband very soon and settling back into our life in Misawa!

Thank you all so, so much for making this time back home so special. To Margie, Eric, Béa and Theo for being so fun and letting me soak up baby cuteness. To Hilary for being forever. To Stan for being my best universe. To Mom for giving me a home. To Kib and Chris for being... well, everything. To Corey for making the most out of these past months and being his super amazing self even though he got the raw end of this deal. :)  And to dozens more who made my time back home amazing! Thank you ALL!!

To Bernie for being my cuddle buddy. I'll miss you puppy!! Now stop barking.

The Year Begins

Since I still have to wait a while for my first kiss of the new year, I was free to take this super cute shot of all the kissers at midnight at our little family celebration. How cute, right?

Then the year was off to a strong start with homemade bagels in the morning. Good year so far!

That being said, I already said my first stateside goodbye (to my cousins, both adult and baby). Sad! But wow, makes it real that I'll very soon be back to Japan. I'm SO excited!! Let's get this party started!

Goodbye Ridiculously Crazy Outrageous Year of 2011

Earthquake. Tsunami. Triple nuclear meltdown. Thousands more earthquakes. Deployment. Pseudo temporary international move.

This year hasn't exactly been themed with stability.

Here's to a much calmer 2012!
